Eti
FAQ
Is Eti affiliated with the European Union?
No. Eti is a private service operated by EAS International, based in Switzerland. We are not mandated by the EU or any of its member states. The official EU website is europa.eu. The decision on every ETIAS application is made exclusively by the ETIAS Central Unit and, where applicable, the competent national ETIAS Unit.
What is the total cost of the service?
Our service fee is €39 for a single ETIAS, €69 for the Premium service (with plausibility review and 30-day expiry reminder), and €119 for a family package up to 4 people. On top, the official EU ETIAS fee of €20 per person applies (free for under 18 / over 70). All amounts are shown transparently and separately before payment.
Do I need ETIAS as an EU citizen?
No. EU citizens and citizens of Schengen-associated states (Norway, Iceland, Switzerland, Liechtenstein) do not need ETIAS — free movement applies.
Do I need ETIAS as a US / UK / Canadian / Australian citizen?
Yes, once ETIAS becomes mandatory in Q4 2026. Eti supports citizens of over 60 visa-free third countries — including the USA, the United Kingdom (post-Brexit), Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Brazil and more.
Why not apply directly on the official ETIAS portal?
You can and may. Our service is worth it if you want:
- multilingual, clear guidance (DE/EN/FR/NL),
- automatic plausibility review of your passport data and answers (the most common rejection reason is inconsistent answers),
- to delegate the work for several travellers (e.g. a family),
- automatic reminders 90/30/7 days before expiry.
How long does processing take?
In ~95% of cases the decision is automated and reached within minutes. If additional checks are needed (database hits in SIS/VIS/Europol/Interpol), processing can take up to 96 hours, exceptionally longer. Our own pre-submission processing is immediate — you don't wait.
What happens if my application is refused?
The decision is made exclusively by the EU authority. On refusal you receive a written explanation by email. In most cases the cause can be fixed (e.g. an incorrectly answered security question) and a new application submitted — we help. On permanent refusal, a formal appeal procedure with the competent national ETIAS Unit is available.
What happens to my personal data?
Your data is processed solely for the contract. Passport images and biometric photos are automatically deleted 90 days after submission. Transmission to the ETIAS Central Unit happens within the EU. Details: Privacy Policy.
Can I cancel?
Yes, within 14 days under our voluntary withdrawal policy. After explicit consent to immediate service start and full delivery, the right of withdrawal lapses. The official ETIAS fee (€20) already paid to the EU is non-refundable.
Who can use this service?
Anyone entitled to apply for an ETIAS — i.e. a citizen of a visa-free third country (full list on our home page) — regardless of where you live. We support DE / EN / FR / NL.
Do you provide legal or immigration advice?
No. We do not provide individual immigration advice. For refusal grounds, criminal-record disclosures or the question whether you need a Schengen visa instead of ETIAS, we recommend an immigration lawyer in the relevant Schengen member state.
Do I need an account to apply?
No. You can apply directly — a passwordless account is created automatically using your email address.
How does passwordless sign-in work?
You enter your email at /account/login, receive a 6-digit code by email (10 min validity), enter it — done. The session stays valid for 7 days.
How do I renew an ETIAS?
In your account area (/account) you see a "Renew →" button per application once approved. One click opens the application pre-filled — only passport photo, selfie and signature need to be current. We also remind you automatically 90, 30 and 7 days before expiry.
Can I apply on behalf of my family?
Yes. In the "Family" area you can create profiles for spouse, children, parents. Their master data is auto-filled when applying.
What about children?
Children also need their own ETIAS regardless of age. The official fee is free for under 18s, our service fee still applies.
Is my passport sufficient?
Your passport must be biometric, valid for at least 3 months beyond travel end, and no older than 10 years. We check this automatically and warn you if anything is off.
How long is an ETIAS valid?
3 years or until your passport expires — whichever comes first. Maximum 90 days within any 180-day period.
How early should I apply?
A few minutes usually suffice — but we recommend at least 96 hours of buffer for the rare cases requiring manual review.
I don't understand the online form — what should I do?
Write to us. We typically reply within a few hours in English, German, French or Dutch. If you are unsure whether you need ETIAS at all, use our free eligibility check.
